Two people struck by lightning at Wrightsville Beach

According to Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue director Sam Proffitt, two people were struck by lightning on Shell Island Saturday morning.

WECT reports it happened around 11:45 a.m. as the people were on the beach.

Shell Island is the northern tip of Wrightsville Beach.

There is no word on their conditions at this time.
