Person hit, killed on Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh

A person died after being hit by a car on Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh on Friday night. 

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Witnesses at the scene told Raleigh police that a person walked into the roadway and laid down on the northbound lane of Blue Ridge Road. 

A dark-colored SUV ran over the person, and they died on the scene. 

The driver did not stop after hitting them. 

Raleigh police are investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department or submit anonoymous tips through CrimeStoppers.
