HighSchoolOT Jamboree at Wake Forest to feature 8 east region favorites from 4 classifications

Pre-sale tickets are now available for the HighSchoolOT Jamboree at Wake Forest High School on Friday, August 14, 2026.

This is the second HighSchoolOT Jamboree of 2026. The first will be played at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary on Saturday, August 8.

The event is brought to you by the United States Army, Wake Orthopaedics, and Talk it Out NC. 99.9 The Fan FM, the Triangle's sports leader, will broadcast from the event, and personalities Tim Donnelly and Dennis Cox will be performing the coin toss.

Scrimmages will start at 6:00 p.m. in Trentini Stadium. Tickets are $15 (pre-sale) and $20 (day-of). There will be separate entrances on the home and road sides. Parking is free. Concessions will be available. There is a strict clear bag policy in effect, and all fans must pass through security.

Here's the schedule for the varsity games at Trentini Stadium. The teams listed first will take the home side and wear their dark-colored jerseys. The team listed second will be the away team and wear white. Each squad is listed with its overall record from last season.

  • 6:00 PM - Warren County (11-3) vs. Wilson Prep (9-5)
    • 7:00 PM - Franklinton (8-4) vs. South Johnston (8-4)
      • 8:00 PM - Wake Forest (7-5) vs. Cardinal Gibbons (12-2)
        • 9:00 PM - Garner (9-4) vs. Northern Nash (11-2)

          The Aug. 14th scrimmage at Wake Forest's Trentini Stadium will uniquely include legitimate contenders for four of the eastern regional championships.

          Wake Forest and Cardinal Gibbons will face each other in the Aug. 14 HSOT Jamboree after playing different teams in the Aug. 8 version. Wake Forest's team includes Rutgers commit Josiah Sturdivant at linebacker, Campbell commit Jayden Debnam at defensive back, and Eastern Michigan commit Micah Olu at running back. Cardinal Gibbons' Skylar Alston and Truth Caesar are Power 4 prospects, and lineman Malek Griffin is a Campbell commit.

          Northern Nash, a favorite to come out of the 6A East, will take on Garner, which is one of the favorites in the 7A East in the final matchup of the evening. Northern Nash returns 2,800 yards of rushing production, star receiver Kamren Freeman, and its seven most productive defenders from 2025. Garner is bringing back Campbell commit Christian Ormandy at quarterback and Division I prospect Amir Wallace at running back.

          Between Garner 4-star linebacker A.J.Randle and Cardinal Gibbons 4-star cornerback Xavier Hasan, the HSOT Jamboree on Aug. 14 will be the only scrimmage in North Carolina with two of Rivals' top 56 prospects in the country. Randle is committed to Miami, and Hasan is committed to Notre Dame.

          Defending N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A state champion Wilson Prep will open up the event against Warren County, which is expected to be a top seed in the 2A East. Wilson Prep returns defensive lineman Zalik Cannady, who was named the defensive MVP of the 1A state championship game as a freshman. Warren County returns its quarterback, 2,000 yards of rushing production, and its top three defenders from last season.

          Two teams coming off 8-4 seasons will face off in the 7:00 scrimmage: 7A Franklinton and 6A South Johnston. South Johnston returns dual-threat quarterback Tyler Williams, its top three receivers, and four of its six top defenders from last season. Franklinton returns its top three receivers, top two running backs, and added a 30-touchdown quarterback from Bunn High School in Josiah Rice. The Red Rams and Trojans are set to compete for top spots in the Northern Six 6A/7A and Carolina Pines 6A conferences, respectively.

          HSOT Jamboree Rules

          The HighSchoolOT Jamboree features rules that are as close to real game rules as possible.

          An officiating crew will call the scrimmage like a game.

          Only two teams will be allowed on the field at one time, meaning we will use the entire 100 yards. Teams will sit on opposite sidelines. The team listed first is the home team and will sit on the sideline closest to the press box. The second team listed in the schedule will be the visiting team and will sit on the sideline opposite the press box. Ticket gates will be located on both sides of the stadium.

          A coin toss will determine who gets the ball first. There will be dead ball kickoffs. A change of possession will begin at the 20-yard line even if the kickoff is fielded deeper. A kickoff fielded before the 20-yard line will be the starting drive location.

          Teams will have four downs to pick up a first down, score a touchdown, punt the ball away, attempt a field goal, or turn the ball over on downs. Punts are allowed, but punting situations are not live. Chain gangs will be used.

          Each game will consist of two 24-minute halves with a running clock. The clock will stop for injuries, timeouts, and the dead ball kickoffs. The clock will not stop for incomplete passes or plays that end out of bounds, except for the final two minutes of each half, which will feature normal timing rules. Each team gets one timeout per half.

          Halftime will be 5 minutes.
