Cary Police investigate shooting at Fenton

Cary Police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday morning at Fenton.

Officers received a report of a shooting before 11 a.m. Monday morning in the Fenton parking lot. 

A person was found dead in a car near the main entrance. The WRAL Breaking News Tracker found a small section of the parking lot blocked off with yellow police tape.

Cary Police said no foul play is suspected, and it seemed to be a fatal self-inflicted injury.

Fenton property management said, "We are aware of the incident that occurred today at Fenton. Local law enforcement is currently on site, and we are fully cooperating with their investigation. At this time, authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. Out of respect for the investigative process, we will defer to law enforcement for any additional details."

Officers are still investigating the incident.
