Man arrested in fatal hit-and-run that killed woman near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh

Authorities have arrested the driver accused of hitting and killing a woman last month near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

Raleigh police contacted the Wayne County Probation Office to coordinate the arrest of Isaiah Gray.

Gray, 25, is charged with felony hit-and-run and probation violation.

Gray is accused of hitting and killing Nicole White on Shanta Drive near New Bern Avenue on May 15.

White was 54. Raleigh police said she was trying to cross the street outside of a crosswalk.

Authorities are holding Gray at the Wayne County Jail as he awaits extradition to Raleigh.

Raleigh police obtained Gray’s cellphone and vehicle used in the crash. The vehicle had damage from the hit-and-run, according to Raleigh police.
