Charlotte Catholic takes No. 1 in final girls soccer rankings for 2026

For the first time, Charlotte Catholic is the No. 1 team in the HighSchoolOT girls soccer statewide rankings.

The statewide top 25, presented by the State Employees' Credit Union, has been around for six years. This year the Cougars went 24-0-1 and won the 6A title.

Right behind Charlotte Catholic were 8A champ Myers Park, 8A runner-up Hoggard, Millbrook, and 7A champ Holly Springs to round out the top five.

In total, 10 state champions finished the year in the top 25: 5A champ Hickory (11th), 3A champ Pine Lake Prep (12th), NCISAA 4A champ Providence Day (13th), 2A champ Christ the King (16th), 4A champ Carrboro (17th), and 1A champ Woods Charter (22nd).

The No. 1 teams in their respective area codes were: J.H. Rose (252), Millbrook (919), Hoggard (910), Western Alamance (336), Charlotte Catholic (704), and Hickory (828).

The HighSchoolOT top 25 is the state's top set of rankings, featuring teams from all classifications across the four major associations.
