The North Carolina baseball team is on the doorstep of another College World Series, but this weekend's Super Regional against USC presents a serious challenge for the Tar Heels.

UNC will have a homefield advantage with all three potential games coming at Boshamer Stadium.

UNC (48-11-1, 22-8 ACC) swept through the regional last weekend, beating VCU in the opener and East Carolina twice. The Tar Heels are the No. 5 seed nationally and reached the ACC championship game, falling to Georgia Tech.

USC (47-16, 20-10 Big Ten) won the College Station Regional by taking four straight games and outscoring their opponents 55-14 after losing the opener to Texas State.

It's the first time the teams have met since 2012.

USC ace Mason Edwards is expected to pitch against UNC's Ryan Lynch in Game 1 of the series on Friday afternoon. The Tar Heels last reached the CWS in 2024, when they were eliminated by Florida State. That was the program's 12th CWS appearance.

Chapel Hill Super Regional Schedule

Game 1 - Friday, June 5 (3 p.m.)

Game 2 - Saturday, June 6 (2 p.m.)

Game 3 - Sunday, June 7 if necessary (TBD)

The College World Series begin on June 12 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
